Love the location.
Our smoking room really smelled badly with smoke. Pioneer inn should not allow smoking in the rooms. There is a huge porch outside of the room where smoking should and only be allowed. Other than that, I think that the pioneer inn is a very nice place to stay, and I will recommend it to all, and I will still want to stay at the pioneer inn again in the future.
The location was great for shopping and tours. Cafes and restruants were close and good value. Good location for all tours and boat trips.
When we booked we thought that we would have a room looking over the harbour. The hotel only has rooms looking over the park and the main street. Suggestion that they include in their website that there are no rooms over looking the harbour area. If you have a choice book the rooms over looking the park instead of the main street. Be careful of some tour operators as there is a majority of tour operators which are in fact time share sellers. There are some that advertise that they are not involved in time share and they are the best. You might pay more for the trips but you do not have to put up with a 2 hour sales pitch that could cost you up to $46,000 US dollars.
Very nice employees that were friendly & helpful.
Stairs with large & heavy luggage.
Rooms had high ceilings and had been thoughtfully renovated. Comfortable and quiet!
The location in an historical town of Lahaina, the looks and feel of the place made us go back in time and dream of the whaling days.
We paid the same for 2 rooms, one had a fantastic view of Banyan tree park, the mountains and the harbor. The other only looked over the pool which did not even open until 10am.
Local. Price. Town amenities
The help from the front desk and the friendly bird, Alex.
Having no elevator, but I understand this is a historic building.
Location and price. A good, no frills hotel with a fabulous location.
We loved the location and the price most of all. The staff was very friendly and accomodating as well.
The only complaint we had is that we were originally booked on a street side room, so it was very loud our first night there. However, after talking with the staff, they moved us to a room that faced the pool and it was much more quiet at night.
I love historical hotels and the Pioneer had a lovely feel to it. It was handy to everything which made it a great base. Alex the charismatic parrot adds a unique touch. Loved the place.
It was a little noisy at night but the noise didn't persist past a reasonable time. It was just that I was very tired from having so much fun on Maui that it was a bit of a problem. However, that is to be expected of a hotel, so I wasn't surprised.
Location and historical nature and ambiance of the rooms and hotel, location to shopping/eating, rooms were clean and fresh, beds were comfortable, but small, obviously looked newly redone and well maintained, had balconies to people watch, felt safe and secure, staff was polite and helpful, great location, close to everything! well worth the price, best deal in Maui! Definitely recommend. Would definitely go back if I ever go to Maui.
someone to help with luggage, an elevator, at least for luggage would be nice, later check out times if desired and earlier check in times if desired.
Very helpful and friendly staff. Love the historic feel. Liked having the balcony and the refridgerator.
It was located right across the street from the Ferry from Molokai to Maui. We didn't have a rental car, so it was centrally located. Everything was within walking distance, or not far by taxi / bus.
location- handy to shops and excursions from wharf
Our room had a partial harbour view which we enjoyed but it did get a lot of street noise.
Katherine and Anne, at the front desk go out of there way to make your stay enjoyable. Both have easy smile and great attitude towards their job.
